Hammer Galleries is pleased to present, Sun, Sea, & Sky: Painting the Mediterranean, an exhibition celebrating the major 20th Century Masters who lived and worked along the French and Spanish Riviera. These artists were drawn to the area by its light and warmth, both physical and spiritual. Some came for occasional visits or seasonal sojourns, others for extended, often culminating periods of their lives. Exceptional works by Alexander Calder, Marc Chagall, Henri-Edmond Cross, André Derain, Raoul Dufy, Fernand Léger, Henri Martin, Joan Miró, Amedeo Modigliani, Francis Picabia, Pablo Picasso and Pierre-Auguste Renoir are included in the exhibition.
